About the project

Support the first centralised (in the public sector) Diabetes Centre at GSH with a multi-disciplinary team focused on guiding in and out-patient management of diabetes. This will have immediate benefits of reducing amputations, caesarean sections, length of hospital stay and overall readmission rates at GSH. It will also provide a specialised area for urgent and emergent consultations. At all times of the day. Longer term- the Centre will ensure better control of diabetes all around – with reduction in overall complications, deaths and ultimately costs on the health care system.

The Trust has committed to raising R1.4 million to supply the Diabetic Centre with the cutting-edge equipment needed to improved diabetic outcomes. Help us ensure the Diabetes Centre has the cutting-edge equipment it needs to move the needle on diabetes in the Western Cape.
